Held for the 24th year by Design Business Chamber Singapore (DBCS), the event at the Fullerton Hotel Singapore Ballroom was attended by 260 guests from more than 20 design companies last week. A total of eight Golds, 29 Silvers and 54 Bronzes.
Asylum won Golds in the Branding category with the project ‘En Haute Joaillerie’ (also a bronze at the Interior and Print categories, each); as well as at the Print category with the ‘54th Biennale - The Cloud of Unknowing’ project.
Ong & Ong, meanwhile, won two Golds in the Built Environment category with the JKC1 and M-House projects.
At the student category, Brandon Sim from Nanyang Polytechnic won a bronze in the packaging category for ‘Cult Mooncake Packaging’. Sheena Poh and Nicholas Ng from Temasek Polytechnic, meanwhile, each won a bronze and silver in the new media category.
The night also saw the official rebranding of the Chamber from the Designers Association Singapore. Lawrence Chong, president of DBCS, said that while the name may have changed, the organisation’s ambition and core mission—to put designers, the creative minority, at the forefront and transform Singapore into a global capital of design—remains the same.
