A three-day spectacle that features eight top club sides from around Asia Pacific, the tournament was first played in 2009 and is now making a return.
Elias Ghanem, managing director and general manager of PayPal Southeast Asia and India, says the event is an excellent metaphor for his brand's key attributes in Singapore. “PayPal is proud to be title sponsor of the SCC-PayPal twenty20 tournament as it features a fast-paced form of cricket that is in line with our overall global brand value for faster online payments," he said. "At the same time, the free entry for spectators makes cricket more accessible to the masses in Singapore, similar to how PayPal wants to make convenient, secure online shopping an integral part of every Singaporean’s lifestyle."
Uniting Future Legends is the official apparel partner and the event will also be getting support from the Singapore Sports Council. It has also secured a television deal with World Sport Group to distribute the live action and highlights across the Asia Pacific region, North America, Europe and Africa.
Ghanem added that the non-ticketed event was a great way to introduce the average Singaporean to a global sport.
