Singapore cable-car stop creates Jewel Box venue

SINGAPORE Mount Faber Leisure Group, formerly known as Singapore Cable Car, has launched The Jewel Box, a venue at the cable-car station.

The Faber Grand Ballroom seats 300 banquet style with floor-toceiling glass windows providing harbour views. The revamp of the cablecar station at Mount Faber cost about US$2.4 million and comes equipped with the latest banquet and conference facilities, such as breakout rooms for meetings with audiovisual equipment. "We can integrate other services such as food and beverage sat four different outlets, coach service and transportation, assist in travel arrangements and even customise tours for the delegates," said Mount Faber Leisure Group CEO Susan Teh. "We have a team of professional event specialists to assist event organisers looking into every detail to ensure a smooth execution of the event," she said. Recent corporate clients include Oil-Tanking, which organised a networking dinner at the Altivo Bar for 300 guests from large petroleum companies such as Shell, BPand Mobil. VIPs at the event included ambassadors, the chairman of the Shell Group of Companies and leaders of the petroleum industry. Nearly all guests arrived in cable cars. Another group, AstraZeneca, a leading pharmaceutical and drugmaker, hosted a half-day medical seminar attended by 150 doctors from around the region, followed by dinner at the Faber Rock.
