Singapore Airshow set for take-off with 80,000 potential visitors

The inaugural Singapore Airshow, the island state's answer to Asian Aerospace which found a new home in Hong Kong last year, will debut from February19-24.

All exhibition space was sold by November 2007.

Over 900 participating companies from 42 countries have booked exhibition space.
They include global leaders in the commercial, military, general aviation and space sectors.

Public admission is on the last two days of the show.
Jimmy Lau, managing director of Singapore Airshow and Events, said: “We expect more
than 30,000 trade visitors, with half coming from overseas.

“There will also be about 50,000 members of the public coming at the weekend.”
Changi Exhibition Centre’s purpose-built 40,000 sqm exhibition hall, one of the largest singular structures of its kind in the region, is fully airconditioned.
The site includes a 90,000 sqm static display area and more than 100 hospitality chalets. A new six-lane road leads to the site built on reclaimed land at Changi North.

The programme includes three new conferences: the Singapore Aviation Leadership Summit;
International Defence Procurement Conference and Global Space Technology Convention; and the fourth editions of the Global Air Power Conference and C4I Asia Conference. Combined
attendance will be 1,600 people.
