Sinclair, Gordon boost BBC's creative unit

ASIA-PACIFIC - BBC Worldwide has moved to boost its Global Channels creative offering, appointing Garry Sinclair as VP, creative, and Gus Gordon as CD, Asia-Pacific.

Sinclair has been tasked with developing a strategic direction for Global Channels and maintaining the brand identities of all BBC Worldwide properties, and will report to Darren Childs, MD, BBC Global Channels.

Prior to joining BBC Worldwide, Sinclair headed his own production company which worked with Nickelodeon Asia-Pacific, and was previously a writer and producer for Turner Entertainment Asia.

Since joining the global broadcaster, Sinclair has picked up several awards, including two Promax gongs in June. Gordon, who will be based in Singapore, will be responsible for creating the on-air presentation and branding activities for several new premium channels, including BBC Knowledge, Lifestyle, Entertainment, CBeebies and BBC HD.

He reports to Christine Leo-McKerrow, SVP, Global Channels Asia-Pacific.

Gordon was previously CD at Factual Channels for Foxtel in Australia and New Zealand. In 2000, he was named one of Campaign Brief’s top 10 young directors, and he also boasts award-winning work for The History Channel, Biography Channel and Crime Investigation Channel.
