Sina appoints Sheta Chow as business development manager for HK and South China

HONG KONG - With the speedy development of Weibo, Sina Hong Kong has appointed Sheta Chow as its business development manager for Hong Kong and South China,

Sheta Chow joins Sina to boost partnership collaborations

Chow (pictured) will report to Tsui Sze-wai, international production director of the company and will be responsible for beefing up partnerships with the brand.

Prior to joining Sina Hong Kong, Chow had over eight years of marketing and artiste management experience, including a marketing and business development role at the New Media Group Holdings in Hong Kong. She also founded her own music production company, Embrace Production, and ran it for over three years.

Sina Hong Kong currently has partnership colloborations with McDonalds and Red Mr Karaoke, and is talking to a number of websites, forums, and online game companies for weibo content collaborations to further improve its numbers.

Sina's advertising revenues grew 26 per cent year-on-year to US$91.8 million. Charles Chao, CEO of Sina stated in the company's second quarter financial results on 17 August, "Launched less than two years ago, Weibo.com has become an online phenomenon with registered accounts recently surpassing 200 million."
