Shangri-la plans deluxe Mongolia property for 2007

MONGOLIA Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, plans to open a new hotel in the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar by the end of 2007.

It will be the Shangri-La group's first hotel in the country and Mongolia's first internationally branded hotel. A joint venture between Shangri-La Asia Limited and MCS Holdings, Mongolia, the 190-room hotel will be a part of an office, retail and hotel complex, in the centre of Ulaanbaatar city in the emerging business district. The hotel will have the most modern and spacious conference and meeting facilities of any hotel in the country. The meeting and banqueting facilities will include a 1,200sqm grand ballroom, and 640sqm of function rooms. The hotel will feature various dining and entertainment options including an all-day restaurant, Chinese restaurant, theme outlet, bar and lounge. Recreational facilities such as indoor swimming pool, health club and spa, will also be available.
