Shanghai hosts ABTM launch

SHANGHAI The first Asia Business Travel Market (ABTM) exhibition and conference targeting business travel in China, was held at Grand Hyatt Shanghai last month. Education was a theme of the launch show and delegates had a wide choice of forums to discuss new trends in China's business travel industry, the state of the industry and travel management. In the "State of the Industry - China" session, panellists examined modes of operation in managing business travel in China. Head of strategic relationships, global business partnerships of American Express Corporate Services Japan/Asia/Pacific/Australia Mr Bradley Prentice raised the issue of credit cards in China. "The unpopularity of credit cards in China is a problem for developing online bookings," he said. ABTM was organised by Reed Travel Exhibitions and event director Mr Andrew Lee said the timing of the event was "absolutely right".
