Shabaz takes on ECD role at JWT

SINGAPORE - JWT has promoted creative director Ali Shabaz (pictured) to executive creative director, and has handed him the additional role of overseeing Unilever's Knorr regional account.

Tay Guan Hin, JWT’s regional creative director, commented: "Under Ali's leadership, JWT Singapore has surged to Asia's top sixth agency, as ranked by Campaign Brief Asia. Moreover, he has built a fantastic creative team and continually brings out the best in them.”

“Friends and family berate me for working so hard. But for me, it isn’t really work. It’s my passion.

Nevertheless, it’s nice that JWT recognised my contributions and I look forward to the challenges in my new role,” said Shabaz.

Shabaz joined JWT as associate creative director from BBDO Singapore in 2005. Within a year, he was promoted to creative director.

Shabaz was named Singapore's advertising person of the year in 2006, at the Singapore Advertising Hall of Fame Awards.
