SGX begins search for first AOR

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX) is in "exploratory talks" with agencies, with the possibility of appointing its first agency-of-record.

Kelly Long, corporate communications manager for SGX said that the group had been meeting agencies “to see what they can do”, but could not elaborate further on the pitch schedule or brief.

“It is very, very initial still,” she said. The SGX also reportedly aborted a pitch for Sesdaq, a secondary listing with lower profit requirements. According to a source, SGX “hastily assembled at least five agencies” for briefings, before the Sesdaq pitch was discontinued.

Long denied that a creative review for Sesdaq ever took place, explaining that the board was currently reviewing its entire business model.

“Maybe that’s where the confusion came.”
