Sex and the City takes on real life feel in Asia push

ASIA-PACIFIC: HBO has taken its popular Sex and the City sitcom from reel to real life in a two-market promotion, opening the door for consumers to interact with the channel.

In Bangkok, HBO teamed up with Central Chidlom department store for a weekend of shoes and fashion, dubbed 'Shoes in the City', featuring collections of 60 brand names. The event included a fashion-cum-talk show and advanced screening of the remaining four episodes of the show.

In Manila, HBO has tied up with ABS-CBN Publishing Group's Metro and Guide lifestyle magazines for an upcoming photo exhibit. The exhibit will feature four top local models fashioned after the show's main characters.

In the lead-up to the exhibition, mall-wide discounts have been organised on a variety of brands sold at a leading shopping centre.
