Seven vie for Ministry of Manpower brief

SINGAPORE - Seven agencies are battling for the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) tender, which seeks to market the country's workforce to the international business community.

The agencies are DDB, Dentsu, Batey, JWT, Leo Burnett, O3 and Saatchi & Saatchi.

MOM is a Singapore Government division designed to promote the development of a competitive workforce. The Government body issued a tender in the last week of August.

The unit is looking to appoint a creative and media agency to develop an internationally focused marketing campaign. The campaign will aim to position Singapore in a positive light among specific target audiences, in parallel to a similar initiative that has been undertaken by Singapore's Economic Development Board (EDB). The resulting campaign is expected to run for a minimum of two years.

The deadline for submission was 22 September and a result is expected in the next few weeks.

The ministry had also issued a tender for a creative agency to develop a campaign aimed at foreign construction workers in Singapore.
