Sengupta joins the WPP firm from Corporate Voice Weber Shandwick, where as vice-president he worked with clients such as Mittal Steel, Jet Airways, Walt Disney, and General Mills.
An associate of the Mudra Institute of Communication (MICA), Sengupta has also previously held senior positions at Euromoney and the Times of India, and handled accounts for Geometric Software Solutions, Prudential ICICI, ICICI PFS and ITC Threadneedle while at Ruder Finn.
In his new position, he will report to Ogilvy Public Relations’ regional chief executive, Christopher Graves (pictured).
Ogilvy Public Relations’ client portfolio in Asia includes Arcelor Mittal, Yahoo!, Cadbury, UPS, Dell and Rolls Royce, among others.
