It's understood Turnbull has accepted a role with a London-based media organisation, although she declined to reveal further details. Turnbull, who has been based in Hong Kong since 1992 and at the SCMP since 2002, said family reasons were behind the move.
“It will be sad to leave Hong Kong, as so much of my career has been here, but all good things must come to an end.”
Assistant director of marketing and communications Irene Ho will fill Turnbull’s role in the interim, until a replacement is found.
