SCMP joins global content network

HONG KONG - The South China Morning Post has become the first Hong Kong newspaper to join NewspaperDirect, a print-on-demand platform with a distribution network in over 100 countries.

"This relationship will benefit our overseas readership, bottom line and brand," said David Savelson, assistant director of the South China Morning Post.

"The proposition does not cost us anything but increases our global distribution. This is good for our brand and circulation. And we receive licence fees for each copy sold."

Vancouver-based NewspaperDirect offers hard-copy and online distribution of a number of publications, including The Washington Post, New York Post, Boston Herald, The Straits Times, Bangkok Post, The Financial Times and China Daily.

NewspaperDirect publications are available in luxury hotels, retail outlets, and on cruise ships, yachts and airlines. The publications are also available for home delivery via its licensed partners that operate 1,200 print stations in 105 countries.
