SATELLITE & CABLE: Star TV launches Indian service in UK

<p>Star TV has launched Indian channels Star Plus and Star News on </p><p>BSkyB in the UK with the aim to serve the 1.5 million Indian and Asian </p><p>ethnic people in the country. Star Plus is a Hindi entertainment channel </p><p>and Star News offers 24 hours Indian news services. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>In Hong Kong, Star TV secured exclusive broadcast rights to carry movies </p><p>starring Andy Lau in the next five years. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The deal allows Star TV to carry Teamwork's new movies starring Andy Lau </p><p>movies on the pay TV, video-on-demand, and pay-per-view platforms in </p><p>Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, the Philippines and Singapore. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>News Corporation has teamed up with Sony to form a pan-Asian licensing </p><p>relationship enabling News Corp Music Group to have a presence in every </p><p>major music market outside the US. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The agreement was signed with Sony Music Entertainment and Sony Music </p><p>Asia. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
