Star TV and Cable & Wireless HKT have signed the terms of their
joint venture to provide a full range of interactive home entertainment,
digital TV and Internet services in Hong Kong and Asia region as
well.
The new company, with the name yet to be finalised, will use Cable &
Wireless HKT's broadband network, interactive television and Internet
services; and Star TV's premium television content and expertise in
satellite broadcasting, media and programming.
The joint venture company is initially 60 per cent owned by Cable &
Wireless HKT, with the potential increasing to 70 per cent.
