Channel V Greater China has signed a new sponsorship alliance with

Ericsson, running for a period of 26 weeks, which will create a new

travel show called RaVe Travellers Presented by Ericsson.

The new show will air every Friday night.

RaVe Travellers will cover six different countries over 26 weeks, with

Channel V Greater China VJs acting as tour guides.

Not a standard travel show, RaVe Travellers will take viewers to London,

Paris, Tokyo, Bangkok, Sydney and Las Vegas to discover the coolest,

funkiest and most irreverent aspects of each of these cities.

Content will also include live music events, local hot spots and a look

at the latest street fashion.

Channel V Greater China general manager Annie Ng said music, fashion and

style trends and modern technology have always been favourite topics

among young people.

"Youth television viewers in China are particularly enthusiastic to

receive the latest information from overseas on these topics," she

said.

"RaVe Travellers aims to deliver this in a unique and fast-paced

way."

The first five episodes of RaVe Travellers will be shot in London and

will take viewers to happening spots such as Ian Schrager's Sanderson

Hotel, Spoon restaurant, The Blue Bar, The Long Bar, The Charlotte

Street Brasserie, The Tate Modern, Oxo Tower, London Eye, The Rock

Circus, China House, Camden Market and Notting Hill.

The London episodes will also feature interview segments with one of the

UK's most successful female pop groups, All Saints.

As part of the pre-promotional activities for RaVe Travellers, Channel V

and Ericsson held a RaVe Travellers Night at Shanghai's Rojam club on

September 21.

Ericsson donated mobile phones and other merchandise to give away during

the evening.

A total of six RaVe Travellers Nights will be held in Shanghai, Beijing

and Guangzhou prior to the airing of the show itself.

vchinese.com will also feature a web page dedicated to RaVe Travellers

and related travel information.

It will also carry details of an online contest, which will give

viewers/visitors the chance to win Ericsson mobile phones and other

merchandise.
