SATELLITE & CABLE BRIEFINGS: HBO airs Franchise and J&M movies

<p>HBO Asia has signed exclusive deals with independent studios, </p><p>Franchise Pictures and J&M Entertainment. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Films in the deal with Franchise Pictures include: Battlefield Earth, </p><p>The Whole Nine Yards, The Pledge, Get Carter and Art of War. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The five-picture deal with J&M Entertainment includes House on Haunted </p><p>Hill, The Guilty, History Is Made At Night, Bruno and A Texas </p><p>Funeral. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Meanwhile, HBO has stepped up its fight against piracy in the </p><p>Philippines, where a growing number of satellite decoders are illegally </p><p>sold. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>HBO Asia has begun deactivating these decoders to combat continued </p><p>piracy of its popular cable programmes. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
