Sarft shuts down video-sharing sites

BEIJING - China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (Sarft) has revised its black list of video-sharing sites found to broadcast prohibited material following a second round of inspection.

Following its checks, in April and May, Sarft has ordered eight video-sharing sites be shut down and cited 20 others for broadcasting prohibited videos, which includes violent, pornographic and politically sensitive material.

The sites ordered to shut down are 1t57.com, Xiaoyaozhe.com, Aikfilm.com, Topdy99.com, Mov2088.com, 0817info.com, Wmood.com and 5show.com. A list of the warned sites has not been released.

Sarft conducted inspections earlier this year and reportedly issued popular website Tudou.com a shutdown warrant. Sources close to Tudou say that it evaded Sarft’s current shutdown list, and is also not on its list of warned sites.
