Samsung selects Starcom for global media business

SEOUL - Samsung has handed Starcom its US$700 million global media business, following a pitch against incumbent MindShare, which has worked on the account since 2004.

The appointment is understood to have been made official last night. It will see Samsung consolidate its business with Pubiclis Groupe, whose creative agency Leo Burnett has worked on the account for three years. According to source close to the review, Starcom won the business based on competitive pricing and strategic offer.

Starcom is already believed to handle Samsung projects in the UK, based on its proficiency in MCA research.
