Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore won the Best of the Best award at the
14th Asian Advertising Awards in Hong Kong, for a TVC titled "Bruce
Lee".
The commercial was created for client Procter & Gamble's Head &
Shoulders shampoo brand.
The Saatchis network also took home a total of 26 Spikes and
Certificates of Excellence, not including the Best of the Best, far
ahead of runner up Ogilvy & Mather, which took home a total of 13 awards
across its network.
The Best of the Best selection caused some dispute among the judging
panel, with three of the eight judges voting against the P&G spot (see
Judges' Comments in the accompanying awards supplement).
Altogether, 96 awards were handed out on the night, slightly up on last
year's total of 87 awards. Organised by MEDIA magazine, the Asian
Advertising Awards had a record-breaking number of entries - more than
2,000 - and nearly 500 guests attended the gala awards ceremony on March
24.
