Saatchis show fires up young talent
The hot-ticket New Directors Showcase by Saatchi & Saatchi featured 22 new talents at Cannes, opening with a vibrant performance by street dancers, which more than topped last year's surreal opening featuring a giant eyeball. <BR><BR> The 22 were chosen from more than 500 reels and included animated gems from the likes of Mrzyk & Moriceau of Wanda Productions, Spy Films' Alex Kiesl and Stephen Hacker, and Nagi Noda of Partizan Films. <BR><BR> David LaChapelle, a former featured director who directed the documentary film Rize as a three-year labour of love, made an appearance to appeal to the industry to keep hiring young talent.
