Saatchis names Australia CEO to succeed Pitcher

Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide has named Jim O'Mahony as its new chairman and CEO for Asia-Pacific and Australasia, replacing Patrick Pitcher who will leave the group at the end of June (Media, March 12).

O'Mahony moves up from his most recent role as CEO of Saatchis Australia. Pitcher leaves Saatchis after 22 years, including seven as CEO for Asia-Pacific. "I firmly believe that it is the perfect time for me to move. I have achieved all my goals here and look forward to a new and exciting challenge elsewhere," he said. Pitcher's move is the second high-profile departure from the Publicis Groupe-owned network in recent months, following the defection of regional ECD Craig Davis to J. Walter Thompson EMEA. O'Mahony will also join the Saatchis' worldwide executive board, reporting to Kevin Roberts, worldwide CEO. The management reshuffle also sees William Leach take over as CEO Australia from May onwards. Repeated attempts to contact O'Mahony proved unsuccessful.
