Saatchis nab Ogilvy's Bruce Matchett as Singapore, Malaysia ECD

SINGAPORE - Saatchi & Saatchi has appointed ECD of Ogilvy & Mather Australasia Bruce Matchett (pictured) as executive creative director in Singapore and Malaysia.

The appointment will be effective in June, when Matchett relocates to Singapore for the role.

According to Saatchi & Saatchi, Matchett has been the creative lead for notable advertisements, including an RSPCA campaign that garnered public outcry for the use of live dogs.

In India – where he has held the role of national creative head for JWT – Matchett also launched a campaign for a potato chip brand that involved pyrotechnic stunts.

“He’s also produced some more traditional forms of advertising, too: from beer, soft drinks and chocolate, to cars, airlines and financial services,” the agency noted.

“Bruce has all the attributes we need for the job: talent, hunger, a passion for innovation, tremendous mentoring skills and vast experience,” said Andy Greenaway, Saatchi’s regional creative director. “These two markets have made huge strides creatively over the last couple of years. I believe Bruce will take us to the next level.”
