Saatchis drops out of Maxis race

KUALA LUMPUR - Saatchi & Saatchi has confirmed it is the second agency to drop out of the review of the lucrative Maxis RM200 million (US$60 million) creative account, which recently went up for pitch.

Last week Lowe confirmed it was out of the running for the pitch, which requires agencies to be of a certain size and scope. Five agencies remain in the mix: incumbents Ogilvy & Mather, BBDO and Leo Burnett, and newcomers Y&R and Grey.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian telco has hired a new head of marketing for its postpaid business, Allan Khoo, formerly HSBC general manager postpaid marketing. Khoo replaces Leena Rashid, who left a year ago.
