The beverage giant said that the agency of three years had, in fact, resigned the assignment.
Media, in wishing to set the record straight, apologises for the error.
Vitasoy sales and marketing director, Nigel Oakes, said Saatchi decided to resign the brief during a recent meeting between the two companies to discuss issues.
"We had a very good run in the early years. But we had difficulties with proposed campaigns. They got to a stage when they got tired.
"We are a demanding client. These things happen but I have to stress that we parted on friendly terms, said Oakes.
Vitasoy has said that it plans to use a two-agency structure to service its many brands.
DDB was recently tapped to be one of the two agencies.
The agency has been tasked to handle the Cha T Din and Gor Yin Hai brands and recently launched a major, television-led advertising campaign.
DDB won the tea account in a pitch against Saatchi and was later given the juice assignment.
