The appointment comes after a competitive, two-round pitch.

According to the agency, the programme, called 'Hong Kong: Creative Ecologies – Business, Living, Creativity', aims to promote the energy, innovation and branding power of Hong Kong designers through online and offline initiatives.

The project is a collaboration between the HKDC and the Hong Kong Government. It will be driven out of Ruder Finn’s Hong Kong office and will run throughout the duration of the Shanghai 2010 World Expo.

“Our partnership with the Hong Kong SAR Government in promoting design during the Shanghai World Expo period leverages this high-profile event and maximizes the exposure of Hong Kong designers and design businesses,” said HKDC chairman Victor Lo. “Audiences from around the world will be able to see the range and quality of our design industries at this global event.”

The exhibition will feature work from Hong Kong designers Eric Chan, Kan Tai Keung, Michael Lau, Tommy Li and Vivienne Tam, and will feature work across fashion and product and spatial design.

Following the Expo’s conclusion in October, the HKDC will move the exhibition to Hong Kong in early 2011, the agency added.
