NEW DELHI: Kaushik Roy has rejoined Mudra Communications as

executive director after two years with Philips India where he was head

of corporate affairs, and a brief stint with Equus Advertising (a JWT

network company) as chief executive.

Mudra, among the top five advertising agencies, and the only one to

remain Indian-owned is currently undergoing a restructuring.

Alan D'Souza, executive director, corporate, said, "The new dynamic

initiatives at Mudra are aimed at two things. One, strengthening the

agency from inside.

Two, developing a competitive edge for the future.

"The idea is to ensure that we are able to correctly anticipate the

future and be strong enough to withstand the emerging challenges."

A.G. Krishnamurthy, chairman and managing director, said that the brief

given to Roy is to "make Mudra, Mumbai the most knowledgeable

brand-building agency in town".

Meanwhile, Tara Sinha has been lured out of her four-year sabbatical by

MAA Bozell. Sinha, whose track record reaches back to the '50s, has

extensive experience, especially with Coca Cola.

In the '80s she founded Tara Sinha & Associates which laid the

foundation for the entry of McCann-Erickson into the country.
