Rinaldi given global brand role at Haier

BEIJING - Haier Group has selected veteran marketer Larry Rinaldi to fill the newly-created position of global chief brand officer.

Rinaldi will join Haier two years after he set up his own agency in Beijing. Prior to that, he spent two years as Motorola’s regional CMO. A lengthy agency career saw Rinaldi arrive in Asia as Ogilvy & Mather China vice-chairman, before becoming Wunderman’s regional president and chairman for Greater China at Y&R.

Recently, Haier selected Y&R to handle its Olympics creative assignment, following a pitch that took over a year to complete. Y&R joined a roster that also includes Draft FCB, Saatchi & Saatchi, Asatsu-DK and Dentsu.
