Richemont moves media to Starcom

ASIA-PACIFIC - Luxury goods manufacturer Richemont has shifted its Asia-Pacific media business from OMD to Starcom, as part of a global alignment with Publicis Groupe.

According to a source, Zenith will lead the account in other parts of the world.

The Asia-Pacific portion of the business is tipped to move to Starcom in the middle of this year. “Th is is a very intensive piece of business,” said one source. “Starcom will need to get geared up to handle this large, complicated account. Of the individual brands, Cartier is believed to have the highest spend in Hong Kong.”

Starcom is understood to have been awarded the business without a pitch. “This should make global coordination better for the client,” noted one source.

“Starcom is speaking to media executives who have luxury brand experience for positions.”
