Reed to target China with new travel show

SINGAPORE Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) will launch an annual business travel fair in China next September.

SINGAPORE Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) will launch an annual business travel fair in China next September. The Asia Business Travel Market (ABTM) 2003 will have a conference and exhibition element and will take place in two major cities. Show dates and venues are being finalised and the event will take place for two days in each city. Some 100 exhibitors, 400 conference delegates (inclusive of 100 corporate buyers) and 200 trade visitors are being targeted. RTE sales manager Ms Joanne Lim said the reason for two locations was "to deliver suppliers to where the market is so as to add value". The launch of ABTM is part of RTE's long-term global strategy to expand business travel. The conference will include topics related to business travel management and procurement. The organisers are seeking sponsors and will be working closely with the official publication, Business Traveller. Reed is targeting the growing Greater China business travel market. "The timing for this event is absolutely right. We have carried out detailed research and there is mounting evidence of a coming 'explosion' in business travel to and from greater China," ABTM event director Mr Andrew Lee said. "Visitors to ABTM will be able to identify improved business travel solutions tailored to their company and its needs."
