By Philip Chadwick STOCKHOLM Reed Exhibition Companies (REC) and its Swedish partner Stockholmsmassan has sold a series of shows to Reed Exhibition Companies (REC) Scandinavia managing director Mr Tommy Bernshed. He will operate the events independently, while working on the group's other shows. The events include the Malmo, Gothenburg and Stockholm Motor Shows, Future Living, agriculture show MILA and education show Skoldagarna. All the events will operate independently under the Sydexpo and Malmossen banners. "We want to concentrate on our core IT events in the region and from our point of view these are not major shows," REC director Mr Andrew Shanks said. "But they can do very well if they are run independently." Mr Bernshed will continue to work on REC Scandinavia's IT shows and Adforum, its Stockholm-based pulp and paper exhibitions business. "Our priority is to expand in the region," Mr Shanks added. "We plan to launch one new event next year although not too much is likely to change right now. We are pretty happy with the way the shows are running." Meanwhile, REC has teamed up with EJ Krause & Associates to co-organise Wireless Biz Asia. It runs from October 29 to 31 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
