RedCard adds senior creative talent

Ogilvy RedCard has restructured its creative team to handle the agency's regional Motorola business, hiring two new creatives and expanding executive creative director Jed Donohoe's duties to take on more responsibilities on the mobile telco's account.

According to general manager Rob Doswell, Donohoe previously spent 20 per cent of his time on Motorola and 80 per cent as ECD of RedCard. His time will now be divided equally between his ECD duties and Motorola.

In view of these changes, Tinus Strydom and Paul Anderson, former senior creatives at BBH and Bates Asia respectively, have been appointed to help oversee RedCard's regional accounts, which include the Economist, Gillette, Estée Lauder and JetStar.

Doswell added that while the agency doesn't use creative titles, their positions would be equivalent to heads of creative.

Strydom will take the lead as head of copy. Winner of a Cannes Gold Lion, Strydom was also behind the Levi's Engineered Jeans print campaign, one of 2002's most awarded campaigns according to the Gunn Report.

Meanwhile Anderson, another Cannes Gold Lion winner for work on Nike, will oversee art direction. Prior to Bates, Anderson was at Lowe Vietnam. Strydom and Anderson previously worked together in their native South Africa at boutique shop Jupiter Drawing Rooms.

The new appointments are effective in October. Ogilvy RedCard GM Rob Doswell said: "In order to maintain our creative mojo we need to invest in the best new blood in the business." Anderson and Strydom are also tasked with leading pitches.
