Entries to the festival are up by 200, according to organisers, with new categories introduced this year, including Radio Lotus, 360 Contagious Lotus and Contagious Lotus for Innovation.
The event will feature 15 speakers during the four-day event and is expecting to attract about 1,400 delegates.
Jimmy Lam, the award show’s president, said traditional media categories continued to attract the largest number of entries, led by press and outdoor.
“There hasn’t been much change to the judging process but some misunderstanding has been in the market,” said Lam. “There is the perception that judges are allowed to vote for their own work. This isn’t true. All judges are regional CDs, so we can’t expect them to abstain from voting for the entire network. They are, however, professional and we hope they will not vote for work that they were directly involved in.”
