Ramakrishnan quits Saatchi & Saatchi for BBDO

SINGAPORE - BBDO Singapore has poached Saatchi & Saatchi's multi-award winning creative director Jagdish Ramakrishnan.

‘Juggi’ replaces BBDO’s executive creative director Farrokh Madon who joined McCann Erickson last month (Media, 10 July). He will join the company in October. The hire is the first major appointment by incoming regional ECD Danny Searle, who joined BBDO from Clemenger DDBO Sydney as chairman and chief creative officer earlier this year (Media, 7 March).

Searle commented: “After compiling a list of Asia’s hottest talent, Juggi’s name was at the very top. He’s a great guy and an exceptional talent. I am thrilled to have him on board as we launch into an exciting new phase at BBDO Singapore.”

Michael Rebelo, Saatchi & Saatchi's CEO, said: "Juggi is leaving us on a high note. We thank him for all he's done for us. He's been a big part of our culture. But we've had a plan in place for about a year, we're changing as an agency and his move will suit both of us."

To replace him, Saatchis has promoted Richard Copping to creative director and hired Andrew Petch, from Saatchi & Saatchi London, as associate creative director.

In addition, Saatchis has appointed John Kyrikou as regional creative and management partner, for the UOB regional account.

Meanwhile Pei Pei Ng, senior creative group head for UOB, is expected to be joining TBWA.
