R3 opens in Asia to bring agency insight to clients

ASIA-PACIFIC: Greg Paull, previously regional director of IPG's Draft Worldwide, has set up R3 Asia-Pacific, a new consultancy which aims to provide marketers with a better insight into agency relationship and remuneration.

The company is majority-owned by Paull and partner, Goh Shu Fen, who was most recently M&C Saatchi Singapore new business director.

US-based agency consultancy, Jones Lundin Beals, has a minority stake and will share its proprietary tools and processes. Specialising in relationship management, remuneration and reviews, R3 rolls out initially with offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. The aim was to "help in the client/agency relationship and give marketers a realistic expectation of their agency". Paull said the time was now right for Asia's first such consultancy because of media fragmentation and the shift from commissions to fees. "We are the clients' intermediary; to help find and manage long-term agency partners."
