QED shifts focus in relaunching of financial title

HONG KONG: The former Reader's Digest-owned title, Benchmark, has relaunched with a greater emphasis on personal finance in a bid to reach a wider audience.

Benchmark, which previously had a more corporate business slant to its coverage, currently has a circulation of 13,000 readers mainly across Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. The ABC-audited magazine is aiming to hit a readership of 22,000 by the end of this year. "We have made enhancements to meet the wealth management and personal finance needs of individuals with information that is both useful and timely," said David Wong, group marketing and circulation director of QED - an investment and publishing group that purchased Benchmark from Reader's Digest last July.

However, Wong stressed that the corporate business side was not being neglected. "We will strengthen that side of the equation to give greater benefit to bankers and financial analysts," he said.
