Publicis Singapore CEO to leave

SINGAPORE - Publicis Singapore CEO, Thomas Neo (pictured), will be leaving the agency in August after over a decade with the group.

Neo rose to his current position in February 2006, following the retirement of former CEO Mike Stepan. He was previously managing director and has been at the agency since it started in Singapore.

Neo said: “This is a decision that I took after long and hard thought over the last few years. I have worked with Publicis since it’s inception in Asia over twelve years ago and have really enjoyed my time here and the organization has been wonderful to me.”

“The decision to move on is one that I made after considerable thought and is not related to any matter other than my own plans.”

Publicis Asia CEO, Matt Godfrey, said that he owed Neo “a great deal of thanks and respect” and would be reviewing the Singapore CEO role in the next few months before announcing a decision.

“Thomas has been of enormous help to me and that is something that I will miss. I wish him the very best for his next adventure and it goes almost without saying, that as part of the extended Publicis family, he will always be welcome here,” Godfrey added.

Neo is the second Publicis senior executive to leave the network in recent months.

In January, Publicis appointed Leo Burnett's North China managing director, Dean Bramham as its new CEO in Malaysia, replacing outgoing chief Shukri Rifaie, who had resigned at the end of November 2008 to take a sabbatical.
