Publicis bolsters Shanghai office with Yeo, Zhang

Publicis Shanghai has beefed up its creative team with the appointment of Albert Yeo and Alex Zhang as CD and ACD respectively.

The pair come on board as part of an aggressive recruitment drive, which sees the agency hire a total of 14 new staff. Yeo joins from the agency's Beijing office, while Zhang comes on board after several years at Publicis Guangzhou. Yeo, who was previously with Singapore-based One Comm, Lowe & Partners/Monsoon and The Joint, has worked on a range of accounts for Publicis, including Coca-Cola and Singapore Airlines, and is currently handling the Nestlé and Allied Domecq brands.

Zhang -- who took up his new post last month -- will focus on creative for the L'Oreal Group, after previous experience on accounts such as Ericsson and San Miguel.

Meanwhile, Publicis Shanghai has also named Ciel Liu as associate art director. Liu has worked at Ogilvy & Mather and D'Arcy, and will concentrate on Nestlé and Ballantine's. Artist Mingfu Da has also joined to service the Lancôme account.

"The new hires represent a strong period of growth which we will continue," said Publicis Shanghai managing director Neil Hardwick.
