Sangwan was most recently with Vaishnavi Corporate Communications (VCC), where he was regional director, in charge of the Mumbai office.
Prior to joining Vaishnavi, Sangwan headed Rediffusion's Mumbai operation.
The appointment follows the resignation of ex-Rediffusion PR head Supriyo Gupta, who decided to move on after nearly seven years at the PR firm, to set up his own venture, called Torque Communications.
Considering the significance of the integrated marketing approach, Sangwan said that an advertising network like Rediffusion, which operates two advertising agencies (Rediffusion and Everest), Wunderman Cato & Johnson, Mediaedge:cia, Sudler & Hennessy, event and celebrity management Showdiff and outdoor advertising through OAP, lends strength in a competitive environment.
"We will go it alone where clients require only PR as a service, but wisdom today suggests that more and more brands and organisations are looking at communications in a truly holistic manner," said Sangwan.
