One fallout is the departure of 17-year Edelman veteran and managing director, Jill Collins, who began her career at the Sydney office and later spearheaded North America's tourism and lifestyle practice out of Chicago and managed key consumer business for Edelman Los Angeles. She returned to Australia two years ago.
Asia-Pacific president Alan VanderMolen said that the "niche premium boutique consultancy structure" was one Edelman had been keen to emulate.
Corporate, marketing and healthcare practices will run as niche firms, with the practice heads - Jo Karabin in the marketing practice, Margaret Sullivan in the corporate practice and Kylea Tink in the healthcare practice - reporting directly to VanderMolen. Public affairs head Ken Cripps has assumed the additional role of COO, a move VanderMolen slated as cutting out the administrative duties of the practice heads and affording them greater client focus. He earmarked further possible administrative staff cuts.
