Proximity names Hodges as Singapore CD

SINGAPORE - Proximity Singapore has appointed ex-Batey copywriter Jason Hodges (pictured) to the newly created role of creative director - head of copy.

Hodges will work closely with Jon Pye, the Omnicom agency’s executive creative director, on accounts such as SingTel, Aviva, Mercedes-Benz, Visa, Keppel and Carl Zeis.

Rod Strother, Proximity Singapore’s MD, said: “The agency has grown enormously over the past 8 months and Jason’s appointment was a necessity.  It’s a new role for us but it reflects the plan to continually improve the quality of work that we’re producing for our clients.”

Hodges, who moved to Singapore in 2000 and spent 5 years working on Batey’s local Starhub and OCBC accounts, and regional Mercedes and global Singapore Tourism Board accounts, had most recently contributed work on a project basis for M&C Saatchi, Lowe and Wunderman.
