Problem gambling council hunts creative agency

SINGAPORE - The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), part of Singapore's Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports, is on the lookout for a creative agency for an integrated public communications campaign in 2009.

The estimated S$2.5 million (US$1.7 million) tender, which also calls for a media buying plan, is for a year, with an option to extend for another year if the partnership is successful.

Prior to the opening of the Lion City’s first integrated resort, the Marina Bay Sands, next year, the Council will be launching communications to increase public awareness of problem gambling among families, to promote its counselling helpline as well as to encourage youths not to start gambling.

The NCPG had worked with Y&R this year for its first integrated campaign. A spokesperson for Y&R said the agency had not decided if it would pitch for the contract again.
