PRIVATE VIEW: Michael Wong, associate creative director at reyWorldwide Beijing

Ahh! NatGeo's A1. This is one of those accounts that creatives die trying to get their hands on! Tons of good substance to work on. Unlimited resources from the product itself. All the elements to do a good ad are available. What more could one ask for? Unfortunately, the campaign doesn't live up to all that. The 'skier' and 'cliff hanger' versions are a bit too overboard and exaggerated, with tacky acting, but the 'snorkelling' version did strike a chord with me. Very subtle, possible in real life and relevant. Frankly speaking, I've done the same snorkelling stunt before with my pet tortoise in my childhood. Minus the TV channel of course!
