BEIJING: China Interactive Media Group has teamed up with US
publishing giant Primedia Inc to publish a Chinese-language teen
title.
Seventeen will roll out on November 25, mainly in Beijing, Shanghai and
Guangzhou, marking the title's launch in its second Asian market after
the Philippines last year.
Primedia has also teamed up with Indonesia's Femina Group to launch a
local language edition in the market this year.
China Interactive's editor-in-chief Zhao Yi-liang said a first year
circulation of 200,000 copies is planned, with the second year target
rising to 350,000 copies.
Zhao said Seventeen would be positioned as a "good friend" to its teen
readers with tips and features on relationships along with the usual
coverage on fashion, beauty, entertainment, and lifestyle.
