PlastIndia, which started in 1990, has been conducted at the same venue for the last 16 years. The event started with only 16 countries. In its latest edition, the organiser expects 1,200 exhibitors including 250 from overseas.
"Globally, attracting over 1200 exhibitors and
nearly one million visitors, from more than 30
countries around the world, PlastIndia 2006, is
among the largest plastics exhibitions. The exhibition spreads over 60,000 sqm at Pragati Maidan, exhibiting raw materials, and machinery," said a spokesperson from the exhibition committee.
For the six-day exhibition, there are separate
halls for exhibitors from the Asia Pacific and combined one for Europe and North America. In comparison to the previous edition in 2003, the 2006 edition will have almost 14,000 sqm extra space for the exhibitions. Thirty five countries are expected to participate in PlastIndia 2006, five more than the previous edition.
"The two-day PlastIndia International Conference
will be held on February 11 and 12 at the
Hotel Grand InterContinental Hotel, 3km away
from the exhibition venue.
The organiser has set up a networking centre to
facilitate business.
