To date, WPP has operated two outdoor planning and buying divisions, Portland and Kinetic, to handle the competing Telekom Malaysia and Maxis accounts.
But Portland will be closed after the Maxis account goes into MindShare, and Telekom Malaysia, along with the rest of the GroupM outdoor media business, is consolidated into Kinetic.
Angie Cutter has joined Kinetic from Posterscope to run the Telecom Malaysia business as group head. Min San Liew has also joined Kinetic as group head from a local outdoor buying company.
"We want a single entity across all markets, and the move is in step with the formation of a global Kinetic proposition," said Alex Thompson, chief executive of Kinetic Asia Pacific.
