PN enters China with BlueFocus partnership deal

Porter Novelli (PN) has launched its China operation, forming a strategic partnership with local firm BlueFocus to create Porter Novelli China.

PN has also appointed Will Ludlam as regional director, Asia-Pacific. He was previously general manager of PN's Seattle office, and will spend at least half of his time in Beijing. PN China will be headed by managing director Steven Chen, who was a vice-president at BlueFocus. The alliance with BlueFocus means that PN's previous partnership with Bentley now exists only in Hong Kong. BlueFocus is the largest local independent in the country, with six offices and over 200 staff. Key PN China clients will include Dow Plastics and GlaxoSmithKline. The launch brings PN's number of branded offices in the region to eight.
