Phillips to lead RBS regional sponsorship

HONG KONG - Peter Phillips (pictured), the 29-year-old son of British royal Princess Anne, has relocated to Hong Kong to head up RBS' sponsorship activities in the region.

Phillips, who has been with the bank since 2005, previously occupied a similar role at the bank’s global headquarters in Edinburgh. He reports to RBS regional head of marketing and communications Anna Langford, who confirmed the shift.

In addition, Kate Henley has been named regional head of retail and commercial marketing at RBS. Henley previously oversaw marketing and communications for ABN Amro Asia-Pacific, before the latter bank was bought out by a consortium led by RBS.

Prior to joining RBS, Phillips worked as sponsorship accounts manager for Formula 1 team BMW-Williams, which signed a major sponsorship deal with RBS in early 2005. Other sports that the bank is involved with globally include rugby, golf, tennis, cricket and equestrian.
